Why VighCon?

VighCon Ltd. brings years of experience and expertice to Retaining Wall Systems. Working with Builders, Developers, Engineers and Homeowners to built walls that last and stand the test of time.

Retaining Wall Engineering has come a long way in the last decade with new products and peripherals to ensure retaining wall systems function to the best standards.

With new contemperary and unique products, Retaining walls are no longer simply used for holding back soils, but they can offer a unique design component to any project. With the breakout of "Modulararity" in the hardscape industry, retaining walls can now match textures, colors and overall design schemes. Why a Segmental Retaining Wall(SRW)?

SRW products are engineered to last. They are engineered by the manufacturers to provide a certain amount of flexibility in events where there will be minimal ground movement over time and over the winter. Concrete does not offer this unique feature. All manufacturered SRW products must pass vigorous testing of the elements and hazardous and normal conditions. They are also designed to be installed easily as individual components. Using Geotextiles and Geogrids, walls can be engineered to 10m high or taller. The options for SRW products are unlimited.

SRWs offer design flexibility, allowing for construction in difficult locations

Faster Installation: SRWs can be installed more quickly, saving time and labor costs.

Lower Installation Costs: SRWs often have lower installation costs than cast-in-place walls.

Better Aesthetics: SRWs can offer a more aesthetically pleasing look compared to cast-in-place walls.

Durable Blocks for Structural Stability: SRW concrete blocks are known for their durability and structural stability.

Strength of Engineered Block Designs: The strength of engineered block designs is a key advantage of SRWs.

How do costs compare with other Retaining Wall systems?

SRW retaining wall costs compared to Concrete cast in place can be much cheaper. There is no need for a large cast in place footing and rebar is not needed. The excavation is generally not required to be as deep. And the overall aesthetic look to make concrete look finished can add alot of cost.
SRW's compared to Timber, SRW's are a little more expensive. The benefits over Timber is a nice clean aesthetic look, flexibility and durability.
